티티바아사나
작은 새 티티바와 바다의 이야기
인도 고전 우화 판차탄트라(Pañcatantra)에는 티티바라는 작은 새에 관한 이야기가 있어요.
바닷가에 살던 한 쌍의 티티바가 모래사장에 알을 낳았는데
거센 파도가 밀려와 알을 바닷속으로 가져가 버렸습니다.
작은 새는 바다에 알을 돌려달라고 했지만, 거대한 바다는 들어주지 않았습니다.
티티바는 포기하지 않았습니다.
다른 새들에게 도움을 청했고, 마침내 새들의 왕인 가루다에게 까지 이야기가 들어갔습니다.
가루다는 비슈누 신의 탈것이자 신성한 새로 여겨집니다.
가루다를 통해 비슈누에게 이 일이 알려지자 바다는 결국 알을 돌려주게 되었답니다.
